In case we've never met...

Hello, my name is Zach. I am a Nurse's Aide by day and I moonlight as a Photographer. I live in Thomaston with my wife, Shaina and our cat, Sydney.

I began taking photography seriously in 2021 after returning home from a vacation in Acadia, Maine (One of the most beautiful places I have ever been) and the only photos I had from the trip were taken with my cell phone and not very good. Weeks earlier, my mother-in-law gave me a 90's model Minolta. I didn't learn how to use it then but I promised myself to learn how to use it so I didn't miss opportunities like that again.

I started by taking some shots around my old neighborhood and dove into John Hedgecoe's The New Manual of Photography. I found a mentor in my friend Matt who is a phenominal film photographer, and watched a lot of YouTube videos on my specific camera and how to work with light, how to edit photos, etc.

I have since upgrade my gear to a Nikon and this is where it may start to bore people.
